Launched earlier this month, Asus Zenfone 3 Max is the company’s latest android smartphone launched in India. Now the company has planned to start its manufacturing in India in its Daman city facility (U.T. Daman & Diu).
Commenting on the announcement, Peter Chang, Region Head – South Asia & Country Manager for ASUS India said, “Besides our headquarters, Taiwan, India is amongst the most important markets for us and we are constantly looking to strengthen our presence and operations in the country. We are excited to announce another smartphone that will be manufactured locally, apart from Zenfone 2 Laser and Zenfone Go. India is on its way to becoming a world leader in mobile phone manufacturing and we are proud to contribute to such a dynamic economy.”
Asus ZenFone 3 Max comes in two variants, the Zenfone 3 Max 5.2 variant at 12,999/- is powered by a MediaTek processor and has lower-end specs. On the other hand, the Zenfone 3 Max 5.5 variant at Rs. 17,999/- is powered by a Snapdragon processor with better specs. However, both the phones are having 3GB of RAM and it runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system.
Asus will be initiating the manufacturing of its Zenfone 3 Max in its Daman facility from December onwards.
