HTC U Ultra: HTC’s Attempt For A High-End Flagship Smartphone


Recently at an event in Taipei, Taiwan, HTC has launched two new smartphones named HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play in its all new “U” series, loaded with its latest AI.

HTC U Ultra is the high-end smartphone and it comes with HTC’s Liquid Surface design and according to HTC, it’s going to stay for the upcoming U series smartphones as well.

Talking about the specs, HTC U Ultra sports a 5.7-inch Quad-HD Super LCD display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and it is also having a secondary 2.05-inch display similar to the LG V20. It is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Quad-Core processor clocked at 2.1GHz and it is having 4GB of RAM and it runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) operating system out of the box along with HTC Sense with advanced AI.

In terms of photography, U Ultra is having 12-megapixel HTC’s UltraPixel 2 BSI sensor camera with f/1.8 aperture, laser autofocus, PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus), OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), Dual Tone LED flash, slow-motion video recording and it can also record 4K videos with 3D, Hi-Resolution audio. For selfies, it is having a UltraPixel camera which can capture up to 16-megapixel photos.

As far as audio is concerned, HTC U Ultra comes with front and bottom firing stereo speakers. Moreover, this handset also comes with a bunch of audio tech. like HTC Ultrasonic, BoomSound Hi-Fi edition, Hi-Res audio recording tech, etc.

Ultra is a dual SIM smartphone and it comes with a whole lot of sensors from a light sensor to fingerprint sensor which is placed on the multi-functional front home button.

HTC U Ultra is packing a 3000 mAh non-removable battery which also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

HTC U Ultra will be available in cosmetic pink, sapphire blue, brilliant black and ice white starting at $749 USD which translates Rs. 51,100 Indian rupees. This phone is already available for pre-orders in the U.S. and expected to be launched in India very soon.
