Today, I am going to list my top 5 flagship smartphones of 2014 with the quick specs overview, features and cons. Don’t forget to share this post and do comment what are your top 5 flagship smartphones of 2014.
Number #1: Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 features a massive 5.7 inch Quad HD super AMOLED display and it comes powered by a 2.7 GHz quad core processor. This phone has good build quality, a powerful 16 megapixel rear shooter and a decent 3220 mAh battery.
Overall the Samsung has nailed it this time with its Samsung Galaxy Note 4 but the only con i have with device is its price which is Rs. 57,000 ($720) & if price is not an issue with you then Note 4 could be the best option for you.
Number #2: HTC One M8
Yes HTC One M8, as many of you guys were thinking why HTC One M8 on the 2nd, it was launch earlier this year. The reason is because HTC One M8 is the device with the best build quality in 2014. The HTC One M8 comes with a 5 inch full HD display which is fairly a decent size neither to big nor to small.
Many of the tech bloggers have said that its camera delivers poor performance but I have never faced that issue while using HTC One M8 and it might not be the best camera smartphone but defiantly one of them and camera UI is also top of the class. However the issue was it only takes 4 megapixel photos (so the size of the images was a problem).
HTC One M8 is available at around 41,000/- ($650) at best buy price.
Number #3: OnePlus One
OnePlus One is a highly anticipated smartphone of 2014. This smartphone has made to be number 3 on list, not because of some unusual specs but because of its price at which those specs were offered. OnePlus One comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD display, quad core 801 Snapdragon CPU and has 13 megapixel rear AF camera and how i can forget to mention its impressive battery standby time which is best among all.
OnePlus One should not be compared to flagship devices like Galaxy Note 4, Sony Xperia Z3, HTC One M8 because there is a huge difference in their cost and all of them have some edge over it but in its own price segment no device is even closer to it.
The con of this device is its backside which can get scratchy at times and bugs in Cyanogen OS. However, all most all of them are fixed and in India Cyanogen OS is not available on OnePlus Plus. OnePlus One (64 GB) is available for Rs. 21,999/- ($349).
Number #4: iPhone 6
As the Apple fans were waiting for larger screen and better camera, so Apple has just done same with iPhone 6 by providing larger 4.7 inch Retina HD display, 8 megapixel rear autofocus camera and A8 chip. Not only specs have improved but now iPhone 6 is 6.9 mm in thickness with approx 129g weight.
Coming to the cons, as we know the Bendgate has completely ruin the iPhone 6 Plus sales and it also has affected the iPhone 6 sales. However, iPhone 6 can’t be bend by putting force from hands as seen on iPhone 6 Plus and you can buy iPhone 6 (16 GB) for Rs. 53,500 ($649).
Number #5 Sony Xperia Z3 & LG G3
If you love the Sony Xperia design language, the Xperia Z3 comes with even more beautiful design and both sides are covered with glass panels which do get fingerprints easily. This phone has 5.2 inch full HD display, 2.5 GHz quad core processor, 3 GB Ram, Adreno 330 GPU and the most striking feature is its 20.7 megapixel rear autofocus camera. Overall it is a good package & oh yes it is water and dust resistant. Sony Xperia Z3 is priced at Rs. 50,990/- ($629).
LG G3 is one of the best smartphone ever launched by LG and it has globally increased LG sales. LG G3 comes with an amazing quad HD 5.5 inch multi touch display, 2.5 GHz quad core processor, 3 GB Ram and has a 13 megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus and both Sony Xperia Z3 & LG G3 cameras gives similar image quality but Sony is slightly ahead. LG G3 comes at a price of Rs. 52,000/- ($580).
So, that was the top 5 flagship smartphones of 2014 (my list) hope so you guys liked it and do forget to comment below your top 5 devices of 2014.
