The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has launched its most affordable smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 5A in India, after launching it a month ago in China. This smartphone comes in two memory variants and Xiaomi has also announced an introductory offer on this smartphone.

The 2GB RAM, 16GB storage variant comes at a price point of Rs. 5,999/-. However, due to launch offer the company is offering 1,000 rupees off on first 5 Million devices, which means the 2GB / 16GB memory variant will be available at a price point of Rs. 4,999/- (for first 5M devices). The 3GB RAM, 32GB storage variant does not come with a similar offer and it is priced at Rs. 6,999/-.
Talking about other specifications, Redmi 5A being a successor to the popular 4A comes with almost similar specifications. It sports a 5-inch HD display with a pixel density of 296ppi and it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC with a 1.4GHz Quad-Core processor. It runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) operating system out of the box.
Redmi 5A features a 13-Megapixel rear camera and a 5-Megapixel front-facing camera. It is a dual-SIM smartphone comes with a dedicated microSD card slot. There is a 3000 mAh non-removable battery and this phone comes with a 5V/1A charger.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be going on its first sale at 12 pm on 7th December and it will be available on both online as well as offline platforms in dark grey and gold color variants along with Rs. 1,000/- cashback with Jio Digital Life which can be redeemed through vouchers.
